  • Welcome to Oman! We start the workshop early with a trip to the Muttrah fish market at sunrise where we will photograph the fishermen bringing in their morning catch
  • Then, we head to the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, the largest mosque in Oman
  • In the afternoon, we take a boat out to photograph the rugged coastline and skyline of Muscat for the afternoon/sunset
  • After sunset, we explore Muttrah Souk, a traditional market in the capital
  • Group welcome dinner to discuss our plans for the trip

Day 2: Quriyat + Sur

  • An early start today as we drive to Quriyat Beach for sunrise to capture the serene morning light as fishermen prepare their boats
  • Then we drive to the Quriyat Salt Fields where we photograph the traditional method of salt farming with both camera and drone
  • After breakfast we embark on an off road adventure to Wadi Al Arbeieen to explore the dramatic landscapes of the eastern Hajar mountains
  • Next up is the Tiwi Football Field, a lone pitch sat high on a cliff next to the ocean - a great spot for drone photos
  • Our last spot for the day is a traditional wooden boat factory, where we will photograph workers making the traditional dhow boats.

Day 3: Wadi Bani Khalid + Sharqiya Sands

  • We rise before dawn and drive to Wadi Bani Khalid, a beautiful oasis nestled among the mountains, known for its crystal-clear turquoise pools and lush palm groves
  • Then we make our way to Sharqiya Sands and check in to our desert camp, followed by lunch and an editing session
  • As the sun sets, we will photograph a camel herdsman as he makes his way across the rolling dunes of the desert

Day 4: SHARQIYA SANDS + NIZWA

  • We have another opportunity to photograph the camels at sunrise, as well as local people in traditional bedouin clothes weaving handicrafts
  • After breakfast, we drive to Nizwa, an ancient town often hailed as the cultural capital of Oman
  • After checking in to our hotel, we explore Bahla Fort, A UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned for its traditional mud-brick architecture
  • In the early evening we head to Old Al Hamra Village to photograph the ancient architecture surrounded by mountains

Day 5: Nizwa + Balad Sayt

    • An early start as we drive to Balad Sayt, a picturesque mountain village where we will get a glimpse into traditional Omani life
    • We will have a traditional Omani breakfast in the village, before heading back to Nizwa for another editing session

    • Enjoy the sun set over the rolling hills before we make our way back to our hotel for dinner

Day 6: Sinaw + Jebel Shams

      • The Camel Market at Sinaw is held every Thursday morning, so that's exactly where we will be heading. Hundreds of Omani's gather here with their camels to buy and sell in a traditional auction style market
      • In the afternoon, we make our way to Jebel Shams, otherwise known as the Grand Canyon of Oman, where we will photograph the sunset from the mountain-top
      • Dinner in Jebel Shams

        Hey, I'm Jord

I'm a full-time travel and landscape photographer from the UK, and have been travelling through Asia for the last 8 years.

I visited Oman in January 2024 with my good friend Khalid, and after 17 days exploring, it quickly became one of my favourite countries.

From rolling desert dunes, colourful souks, bustling livestock auctions, ancient mountain villages and quaint fishing communities, I can't wait to share this journey with you and show you the beauty of Oman.

The trip is first come, first served, and you must pay the deposit to secure your spot. If you have any questions at all, please reach out to me by email: hello@jordhammond.com
